GodModing Empty
PostSubject: GodModing   GodModing I_icon_minitimeSat Jun 26, 2010 12:42 pm

As stated in the forum rules, GodModing will not be allowed. For those who don't know, Godmoding is defined as follows:

"God mode is a state in many video games wherein the player's character is invulnerable to damage along with other enhancements often relevant to the game (For example, having all weapons, items, et cetera). It is typically activated by entering a cheat code, but some games may also include invincibility power ups. The "mode" itself isn't usually available through legitimate gameplay and will often require a code via a developers console or a sequence of button presses, however, this is not to be confused with hacking since the mode is actually part of the game, usually as a developers method of testing. The term may also be used when the CPU opponent, mostly in sports games, goes into a "god-like" state, deliberately altering the probabilities and mechanics of gameplay in its favor."

Godmoding in roleplay forums is technically the same thing. For example:

Joe: Summons a storm, killing everyone in the area with bolts of lightning

This would be an example of Godmoding.

Another example would be:

Bill: Gets struck by lightning, and heals instantly.

And yet another example:

Cassie: Gets shot at/swiped at/hit and not getting hit and healing instantly

Its not only godmoding but its also unfair and just bad roleplaying form.

If your characters is going to engage in a battle with someone, either a serious one or just for sparring purposes, then please be fair to one another. Each person must take equal amount of damage and each must give equal amounts of damage. Also, remember your posting order! and no double posting just because the person has failed to respond back.

If your playing a character you've grown to dislike, and want to kill them off in the forum, or just want to kill them off because you want it to be part of their story or whatever, both parties must agree to it in 'OOC' [Out of Character] Its just good manners.

Hope this helps. Thanks for reading ^_^
